Comments Section

Point Of Divergence is an amateur press magazine and also a forum for discussing AH and AH-related ideas.  Here is my comment section.

Some brief Alternate History thoughts, some of them initially posted on AlternateHistory.com:

Incapacitating A Major World War II Leader Let's say you have a choice: You can temporarily incapacitate any World War II leader for up to three weeks at any time during the war or the lead-up to the war, starting in 1934. Assume a minor stroke or accident that leaves said leader totally incapable of acting as a leader during that period. The leader will be physically and mentally capable of resuming leadership at the end of the three weeks, though events during those weeks may or may not allow him to do so. Who do you choose? When do you give him his three-week 'vacation'? What would the impact be?

AH Challenge: Indians Destroy One of the Original 13 Colonies Just to make the challenge interesting, find the last possible time an Indian tribe or coalition of Indian tribes could destroy one of the 13 founding colonies of the US. European support is okay, but the primary effort must come from the Indian tribes involved.

AH Challenge: Something like the Boer Republics in North America: Find a Point of Divergence that leads to an organized attempt on the part of one of the non-English-speaking European groups that settled in the United States to flee British or US control and set up independent republics in the interior of North America.  Dutch?  French?  Partial credit for English-speaking groups.
