What Am I Trying To Do Here?

You buy an old computer at a garage sale, or your aunt Emma gives one to you. It doesn't look like the ones at work, and it doesn't act like them either. Little Jackie could use a computer of her own, but how do you figure out how to make this thing useful? Chances are good that there is an on-line group that can help you make that old boat anchor useful, or line you up with someone that knows how to and is willing to take it off your hands. Here are some links to groups for some of the most common non-MSDOS Computers . The fact that a computer isn't listed here doesn't mean that there aren't groups out there for it. It just means that I haven't had a reason to look for them. If you have contact info for such groups, feel free to e-mail me. I may add the information to these links. The fact that a computer is listed here doesn't imply that it is obsolete or that most computers of its kind are in closets or garage sales. It just means that I think there may be people out there encountering older models of the line and not knowing quite what to do with them.
